This is a wonderful and unusual Old African Malindi Mask from Zaire in the Congo. This wood Mask is styled after the masks made by the Warega of Zaire. Masks like this is decorated with clay, hemp or raffia, cows teeth, cowrie shells and all natural pigments. This mask was used to scare away evil spirits. A very creative and unique mask.
