Vintage Japanese Kensui - Jet Black Hare's Fur Glazed Water Bowl

This vintage ceramic kensui (waste water bowl) features a deep black glaze accented by a patch of orange hare's fur.

Kensui (建水), also called koboshi (零し) are used during a tea ceremony to hold the waste water used to purify and clean the chawan and chasen. They are typically made of metal or ceramics.
