This tea scoop has been made with hand-building processes, these ancient techniques have been used for many of thousands of years. This approach to making pottery allows it to be created without pottery wheels, using only the makers hands and simple tools. I gravitate towards this way of making as it shows evidence of the human hand – the human being behind the work.
Each piece takes many hours to form by hand, then allowing time to dry for a period of 2-4 weeks before the kiln firing process.
Each piece may differ slightly from the one photographed, as they are each individually hand-built.
Slip brushed stoneware clay.
Measurements: approximately 9cm long x 4.4cm wide x 0.7cm
