The "buketan" or bouquet also shown a very Dutch typical of flower bouquets with exotic animals such as birds and butterfly.
This buketan was very popular during the heyday of Dutch batik. And still being used until today although the design has been shifted a lot.
"Bouquets are originally truly European motifs, but quickly became popular among Indo-Chinese, especially after their legal assimilation to Indo-Europeans in 1920 as a status symbol" -- quoted from Rens Heringa on her book entitled "Fabric of Enchantment Batik from the North Coast of Java".
