This piece has an expressive, almost exaggerated face The head is oversized head a key trait of this older studio works. The piece is attributed to a Kutani artist 栄雲堂 (Eiundō / Eiundo).

A well-presented example with strong detail and traditional Kutani colourwork.

The base and original timber box carry Japanese markings (see photos).

A genuine vintage Kutani Shishi piece with cultural significance, suitable for collection or interior display.
