Vintage Japanese Ranma

This Vintage Japanese wooden carved object is called a ranma or '欄間' - the ranma is used as a decoration above Japanese inside door for ventilation, decoration or for casting a beautiful light through it.

This features a beautiful keyaki wood which has been carved into a delicate motif of three people rowing a boat bravely in front of a pine tree - those tree peoples' faces are absolutely described perfectly.

The back of this item has engraved artisan name '光工'.
