A subtle but not invisible application of wood and menthol sets off an exuberantly fresh nose of essence of black cherry, violet, spice and newly turned earth. The velvety yet muscular flavours possess a lovely sense of underlying tension as well as excellent length on the serious, firm and youthfully austere finale. This is clearly built-to-age and will be a delight in 6-8 years.
