Vintage Karel Zemek Glass Dish
Czechoslovakian glass bowl from the ‘Niagara’ series, produced by either the Mstišov or the Moser Glassworks in the 1960s.
Its organic freeform and a subtle combination of rosaline pink and cobalt blue create an aesthetically pleasing impression of a water splash in sunlight, hence the name of the series.
Height: 19 cm (7.5‘‘)
Diameter at widest point: 13 cm (5.1‘‘)
Weight: 862 g
Production of the ‘Niagara’ range at the Mstišov glassworks discontinued in 1964 when the land was needed for the expanding coal industry. The Mstišov factory was closed down and staff, designs and production were transferred to Moser in Karlovy Vary.
